Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha is a New York Times best-selling author and a pioneer in modern-day spirituality. Healing Background

Dr. Sha is a medical doctor in China and a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in China and Canada. Born in the Shaanxi province of China in 1956, he became interested in healing as a young child as he observed people in his immediate and extended family struggling with a variety of illnesses.

At the age of six, he was accepted by the first of several masters in Eastern martial arts.
At 22, even before completing his training as a physician, Dr. Sha began to combine the knowledge of energy development he had learned through his practice of martial arts with traditional Chinese acupuncture to create his own unique acupuncture system.

Dr. Sha went on to study at Xi’an Jiaotong University, completing his medical degree in Western medicine in 1983. He was also certified as an acupuncturist and herbalist in 1986 by the World Health Organization’s Institute of International Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Beijing, where he taught acupuncture, tai chi and qigong to foreign physicians. He is a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine and a registered acupuncturist in Canada. In 2005, under the guidance of Dr. Zhi Chen Guo, his revered teacher in China since 1990, he became the sole Western teacher of Body Space Medicine, which helped contain the SARS epidemic in China.

Dr. Sha also completed a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration at the University of the Philippines in 1988. While there, word of his skill as an acupuncturist spread and he treated numerous VIPs while offering a street clinic for the poor.

The founder of the Soul Healing and Enlightenment Institute, Dr. Sha also supports the ongoing studies and projects of the Sha Research Foundation.

Master of Eastern Arts

From the age of six, Master Sha continued to deepen his exposure to Eastern arts, ultimately becoming a Grandmaster of tai chi, qigong, the I Ching and feng shui. In 2002, he was named Qigong Master of the Year at the Fifth World Congress on Qigong. He is also the sole 373rd-generation lineage-holder of Peng Zu, whose life-long anti-aging system has been passed down through oral tradition to no more than three lineage-holders per generation for more than 4,300 years.

Dr. Sha has written a number of books, including Zhi Neng Medicine: Revolutionary Self-Healing Methods from China (1996), Power Healing: The Four Keys to Energizing Your Body, Mind and Spirit (2002; an international best-seller), New York Times best-seller Soul Mind Body Medicine: A Complete Soul Healing System for Optimum Health and Vitality (2006), #1 Amazon.com best-seller Living Divine Relationships (2006), New York Times best-seller Soul Wisdom I: Practical Soul Treasures to Transform Your Life (2007), and #1 Amazon.com best-seller Soul Communication: Opening Your Spiritual Channels for Success and Fulfillment (2007).

In 2008, Master Sha partnered with Atria Books, a major division of Simon and Schuster, to create the Soul Power Series. Revised, expanded and issued as trade paperbacks, Soul Wisdom and Soul Communication became #1 and #3 New York Times best-sellers respectively. The latest release, The Power of Soul (January 2009), debuted at #1 on the New York Times “Advice/How to” best-seller list and is destined to become one of Dr. Sha’s most popular books.

Dr. Sha’s writings reflect his emergence as an advanced spiritual master. Humanitarian Activities


Dr. Sha has come a long way since his boyhood concern for the family and villagers around him. Today, he is recognized as a servant of humanity and a pioneer in healing the soul, mind and body using the power of the soul. In 2006, Dr. Sha was the recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Hall of Fame Award for his outstanding work in promoting peace and healing. He is the founder of the Institute of Soul Healing and Enlightenment, whose varied programs and gifts assist people everywhere to heal, transform and enlighten themselves and others. In 2008, he founded the World Soul Healing, Peace and Enlightenment Movement, which invites people worldwide to join in chanting Divine Soul Songs for world healing and peace. Legacy

Dr. Sha has trained more than 800 Soul Healing Teachers and Healers who teach self-healing and enlightenment techniques at the grassroots level and at Love Peace Harmony centers being established in key cities across the globe. At a time of difficult transition for Mother Earth, he is committed to transforming the consciousness of individuals, humanity, Mother Earth and all universes, and to spreading the messages of soul healing and universal service worldwide.
